Believ takes over Brighton & Hove’s Blink charging sites
More than 110 chargers are changing operator, with rapid-charging equipment replacements due by the end of November.

More than 110 public chargers across over 30 locations in Brighton & Hove are moving from Blink Charging to Believ. The takeover covers both 7–22 kW AC equipment and rapid chargers rated at 50 kW or above.
Believ is retaining the existing standard-plus AC equipment and its installed infrastructure. Rapid-charging locations are getting replacement equipment, with that work expected to finish by the end of November 2026. Elm Grove, London Road Car Park and King Alfred Car Park are among the locations named.
The operator says the work is intended to improve reliability. For drivers using these sites regularly, the immediate change is the operator handling the session, payment and support. Availability during equipment replacements will need to be checked at the individual location.
A separate expansion across the city
The handover sits alongside Believ’s programme with the council to install a further 210 rapid and ultra-rapid chargers by the end of 2028. The transferred Blink units are existing infrastructure, so they are separate from that new-build total.
Brighton & Hove’s public chargers serve residents as well as visitors. Longer-stay AC charging and faster top-ups cover different needs; retaining the former while replacing rapid equipment keeps both uses in the network.
Drivers heading to an affected site should check Believ’s current map and the payment instructions on the equipment. A previously working Blink account or saved map entry may not reflect the new arrangement.
