Electra is taking over Mercedes-Benz’s 47 European high-power charging hubs, adding 374 charging points as the carmaker shifts its regional network into a new partnership. The integration began on 1 November; the companies announced the arrangement on Tuesday.

Thirty-one of the hubs are in Germany and six are in Austria. The deal expands Electra’s German footprint from 50 to 81 locations. These are existing charging sites changing operator, rather than 374 additional plugs being built.

Mercedes drivers also gain preferred access to Electra’s wider network through MB.CHARGE Public. The partners say that covers more than 800 locations and over 5,000 charging points in ten European countries. Benefits depend on the customer’s tariff and include preferential prices and reservations at compatible chargers.

Charging locations can be found through the Mercedes-Benz app and the car’s charging system. MB.CHARGE Public requires a separate charging contract. The partnership announcement does not give one universal discounted price, so the tariff and the selected site will still determine the bill.
