Oreve plans 12 more French truck-charging sites with ABB
Around 100 charging points and 18 MW of installed capacity are planned by the end of 2028, with megawatt charging to follow.

French charging operator Oreve plans to add 12 high-power charging sites with ABB E-mobility, expanding a partnership that already covers six locations. The new sites are intended to provide around 100 charging points and 18 MW of installed capacity by the end of 2028.
Announced on 4 November, the agreement puts greater emphasis on freight routes while keeping the network open to passenger cars. Existing locations include Bourg-de-Péage, Vénissieux and Pardies; the announcement does not identify all 12 new sites.
The rollout starts with ABB’s A400 chargers. Each unit shares 400 kW dynamically between two charging points, so the rating is the combined power available rather than a promise of 400 kW to both vehicles at once.
From early 2027, Oreve also plans to use ABB’s modular M-Series, which can expand from 400 kW to 1.2 MW by adding power modules. The system supports CCS and the Megawatt Charging System, with the partnership’s first MCS-capable installation planned for 2027.
For electric-truck operators, the expansion would add public charging options between depots. The 2028 capacity remains a deployment target; it is separate from the six sites already operating.
